Princess Mary Tin Christmas Fund Gift Tin 1914

Princess Mary created an appeal to the public to raise funds to create these tins with gifts to all allied troops on the front line.
This particular tin has certainly seen some use but has a lovely appeal to the story it could tell. The embossed lid has been dented as are the sides and base. The hinge works okay. Some of these these were carried on the front line by the troops this could explain the condition of this one.
The tin contains two medals:
British War Medal 1914-20
Victory Medal, both with ribbons each one is named:
J. 20558 W.C.Jebb. A.B. R.N.
Slightly less common the Navy medals AB (Able Seaman)
